SBL averages close to 350 in attendance each year.

State of Black Learning Conference attendees seeking Act 48 continuing education hours must complete the session verification form that will be provided at the conference check-in table.  Attendees will turn in the verification form on their last day of participation in exchange for a Certificate of Attendance, that will include a conference certifying signature and the number of hours earned. Attendees must provide this certificate and Professional ID number to their Lead Educational Agency to report your Act 48 hours to the PDE Professional Record Management System (PERMS). The State of Black Learning committee has selected the Energy Innovation Center to host the 2021 conference, located: 1435 Bedford Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219

General Registration includes:

  • Includes access to virtual experience and covers full in-person conference (TBD)
  • This would include exhibits, a diverse offering of sessions, local artistry, onsite parking, access to local food trucks, eateries, conference materials and more.

Virtual Registration Only includes: 

  • Includes access to 2 keynotes, 2 live panel discussions and 4 breakout sessions (2 on both days) and live q & a for two days and recorded presentations

Yes. The EIC is handicap accessible.

Yes. Each year we release a SBL In-Action Guide and host mid-year events  that  will allow participants to make practical implementation year-round. To find out when this is happening, follow us on facebook and Eventbrite. 

Currently childcare is not being provided. However, we are working with potential partners to provide childcare at a small fee for attendees who are in need of this service.
